Diane Kahn is the Executive Director of the Humans of San Quentin, a non-profit project that collects and posts real stories shared by people currently incarcerated in prisons throughout. Humans of San Quentin aims to “…bring awareness and build connections ... to give voice to the unheard by sharing daily life inside prison…to educate and build compassion by sharing the lives of the humans living behind bars”. Diane holds a Master of Education from the University of San Francisco, and has worked as a social justice advocate and teacher at San Quentin, helping incarcerated men to attain their high school diploma. She launched Humans of San Quentin in 2019 On this heartfelt episode of the Baby Steps Nutrition Podcast, Argavan and Diane discuss her passion to share the voice of the most deeply wounded people in society, how she was inspired by the Humans of New York stories and her incredible team of people and what makes their collaboration a successful one.
